The Kennesaw State Owls lost on their home floor to the North Florida Ospreys for the third straight time 71-56.Despite a 20 point six rebound night from Markeith Cummings, the Owls could not push their two game winning streak to three. An 11 point second half opening barrage buried the Black Gold.

The Owls went into half time down one (34-33) after being down by as many as eight points in the first half. However, they were unable to overcome a horrendous shooting night from beyond the arc (1-15). It was the second time this season that they were unable to sink more than one from three point land.

The Ospreys had little trouble making shots as they opened the second half hitting six of their first seven shots. They shot 65% from the field in the second half (13-20), which was the highest opponent field goal percentage allowed in one half by the Owls all season.

The Owls fought back to within nine with 3:41 left in the game, after Cummings converted back to back three point plays; however, they proceeded to turn the ball over four straight times.

Coach Tony Ingle had this to say after the game.

“We were missing that spark tonight that I saw in our guys in other games this season.

The Owls, who are 5-13 on the year and 3-5 in Atlantic Sun conference play will host the Jacksonville Dolphins Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
