Warning Pick Pocket on the Loose- Gas Prices

In one week gas prices increased in Pickens County an average of .11 cents per gallon. How does this hurt your local economy?

Well if 250 cars in the County purchase 15 gallons per day that increases the cost an additional $412.00 a day, $2887 a week and $12,512 per month. This removes that money out of other areas in our local economy when it needs it the most. These are conservative numbers, there are more likely a 1000 cars fueling up every day in Pickens County. This example does not include the cost increase to businesses that have delivery trucks. This in turn increases the cost of getting products to the shelf and results with you paying the price. Rising prices not only hit you at the pump!

What can you do about this? One idea is don’t fill up your car. Most people fill up when they stop for gas in fear it will go up again. That’s like giving a prepaid gift card to the oil companies. People generally have 13 gallons of gas they don’t need. If 10,000 cars would limit their purchase and only buy 2 gallons at a time that would take back $434,200.00 of the prepaid gift card. That’s just one idea. I have heard some people calling for not buying gas one day a week. These ideas could make a difference.

Your local economy can’t afford this! Americans leave blood on the oil field and give blood at the pump! FYN does not claim to be a mathematician, our figures are approximate and our ideas for dealing with the outrageous fuel costs are just a few among many. But what we do know is the hike in fuel prices is not what our economy needs in times like these.
