REPUBLICANS MONTHLY MEETING FEATURING MORE FACTS ABOUT THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (OBAMACARE). On July 9th at Chattahoochee Technical College beginning at 7 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the Pickens County Republican Party will be bringing other aspects of the healthcare law to fulfill our purpose of providing the facts so you can decide what you choose to do. With government scandals constantly brought to light, this may be the most fact filled picture of the Affordable Care Act you will hear.

When you go on line and research the law, you get that 1. it ends pre-existing condition exclusions for children; 2. keeps young adults covered until age 26; 3. ends arbitrary withdrawals of insurance coverage; 4. guarantees your right to appeal any insurance decision; 5. ends lifetime limits on coverage; 6. reviews premium increases; 7. helps you get the most from your premium dollars; 8. covers preventive care at no cost to you; 9. protects your choice of doctors; & 10. removes insurance company barriers to emergency service. The designation of a Health Insurance Marketplace is designed to make buying health coverage easier and more affordable. What is doesn’t discuss is how this is to all be paid for and what real impact it will have on the American healthcare system in January 2014 when it is to be operational.

THE EVOLUTION OF HEALTHCARE COSTS, A PHYSICIAN & HOSPITAL PERSPECTIVE is the topic chosen to explore what happens next. But the who, what, when, where and why will be examined. After all, with a hospital CEO and a neurosurgeon, facts are what they know!
