PHS Basketball, Team FYN Sports

The PHS Dragons varsity basketball team traveled to Union County last night to take on the Panthers in a non-region game. Coming into the game, the Dragons were looking to end a recent string of tough games while the Panthers, came in undefeated.

In the 1st, The Panthers were able to gather a lead to begin the frame. Pickens, started to cut into the lead towards the end of the quarter. As we would head to the 2nd, Union held a 17-9 lead. The 2nd quarter, would not be kind to the Dragons as they could not get anything to fall. The Panthers stretched their lead using a 25-10 quarter advantage to take a 42-19 lead into the half.

In the 3rd, the Dragons started seeing things click on both sides. At one point, Pickens trimmed a 23 point deficit to 10 in the 3rd. The Dragons, outscored Union 20-11 in the 3rd, but still found themselves down 53-39 going to the 4th. The Panthers, were able to close things out with a 19-11 quarter run, to get the win, 72-50.

Leading the way for the Dragons were:

Keinyuan Hooks: 13 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, & 3 steals

Seth Bishop: 13 points, 5 rebounds, & 1 steal

Tucker Lowe: 13 points, 1 rebound, & 1 steal

Zach Goss: 8 points, 1 assist, 5 rebounds, & 2 steals
