Jesse Thomas Faucette
November 3, 1933 – December 15, 2018
Tom Faucette was born on November 3, 1933 in Hayesville, NC. At the age of 85, Tom passed away at Piedmont Mountainside in Jasper, GA on December 15, 2018.
Tom was the youngest and last sibling of 5 brothers and 2 sisters born to Mattie and Jesse Faucette, Sr.
Tom joined the Navy after high school and served on the USS Lake Champlain for 2 terms of service during the period of the Korean War. After honorable discharge, Tom graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in Accounting.
Tom was very successful as a commercial construction salesman in his role with LineTec, a division of Apogee and was the proprietor of Georgia Glass & Metal. Tom loved the game of golf and was able to combine the two passions of sales and golf. He and his wife, Donnie, became part timers in Big Canoe in 1986, eventually moving from Lithonia GA to become full time Big Canoe residents in 1996. They joined the Big Canoe Chapel in 2002. Tom was a past President of Big Canoe Men’s Golf Association and was a contributor to fundraising efforts to support the Big Canoe Chapel Men’s Fellowship Group.
Survivors include his wife, Donnie Faucette of Big Canoe; children, Jesse T. Faucette III and Lisa Waechter and family of Jacksonville FL; Johnny Bilbo (Kiitty) of Spruce MI; Greg Bilbo (Jenny) of White Plains, GA; Cindy Bilbo of Big Canoe. Grandchildren include Wendy Bilbo, Leonard Ray Bilbo, Loni Sumner (Cole) all from Greensboro GA. Great grandchildren include Garrett Pettis of Stockbridge, GA; Macie and Owen Sumner of White Plains, GA and Gracelynn Bilbo of White Plains. GA.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Big Canoe Chapel, followed by a reception at the Broyles Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tom Faucette to Big Canoe Chapel or Big Canoe Men’s Fellowship Group. The address is 10455 Big Canoe; Big Canoe, GA 30143.
