“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him.” James 1:12

Almighty God, we bow before your throne in the name of Jesus Christ. Your word tells us that when He was upon the earth, He was tempted in all points like as we are and was without sin.

We confess to you that we are not sinless, but have done those things that were not pleasing in your sight. So, we pray for forgiveness and restoration to full fellowship with you.

As we live this day in the midst of an evil world, temptation will stalk us on every side. May we be armed with the Christian’s full armour: being girded with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, walking in the gospel of peace, holding up the shield of faith, wearing the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, the Word of God.

If this person who seeks strength from you just now is not ready for battle, may this one come to the Cross of Christ where evil is eternally defeated.

Amen.
