Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two Masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”O Divine Father, whose knowledge of our human nature is perfect, grant us courage to be totally honest with you and with ourselves. Too often, we are doubleminded saying and doing things just because we think those around us expect us to go along with the crowd. Build within us a character of singleminded devotion that will stand for the right come what may. Help us to understand that it is better to stand stalwartly firm on the side of right alone than to compromise one iota and give into the plauding crowd. The fact that we have been touched by your divine supernatural hand and have been redeemed by grace makes us disciples of Jesus Christ. Forbid that we should ever be untrue to the vows we have made to Him. May we live this day in loving devotion to our blessed Saviour.

We pray today for those who are thrust among the pressures to compromise. If this one before you just now is faced with this type of situation, grant this person the soundness of mind and toughness of character to stand for the right through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
