FYN Business Profile: The Law Office of D.Charles Fulcher, LLC

Business, Featured Stories

Main Street in Jasper is highlighted by its many businesses and beautiful buildings that make up the area and is also known for the law offices that accompany the street. One such law office is the Law Office of D.Charles Fulcher, LLC, which has been a part of North Main since the fall of 2011.

Mr. Fulcher was able to make time in his very busy schedule to talk to FYN about his business and what he has to offer to the people in Pickens and the surrounding counties:Tell us a little about your law background

“I initially graduated from North Georgia College (now the University of North Georgia) and started as a probation officer. I worked as a probation officer for a few years, and then decided to go back to school and chose law school. I graduated from law school in 2006, and I initially worked as a prosecutor for the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). After that I worked with Edwin Marger’s office in Jasper until September 2011 and have had my own office since September 2011.”

Can you tell us about the law that you practice?

“Like any small-town firm it’s kind of a general practice, but I concentrate more on areas of litigation and those areas being divorce, domestic issues, child custody issues, and criminal law. I also do general civil litigation, breach-of-contract actions, negligent construction, personal injury cases, and some probate matters. I will also say what I don’t do: I don’t do real estate transactions or other transactional-type work; it’s mainly a litigation-focused firm.”

Once you earned your law degree, what made you decide to come to Pickens County?

“The opportunity to work with Ed Marger. Ed was a great boss and he is a great attorney, so it was the opportunity to work with him and learn from him and his style for practicing law.”

If there is someone who has a case and is interested in using your services, how can they contact you?

“The easiest way to contact me is just by calling, but a lot of time I’m in court so the easiest thing for people to do is to speak with my paralegal, her name is Gloria McConnell. The phone number is 706-692-2000. They can also look me up on my website, which is www.dcharlesfulcher.com.
