Have you seen any of the following Ten Most Wanted Pickens County Citizens? If so, be aware that they will be arrested on Tuesday, April 29 and brought before the “judge” at the Old Jail on Main Street between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to be arraigned and to have bail set for their release. Only after they have raised their bail, will they be allowed to return to their place of business or home!
These 10 detainees have agreed to be arrested for a good cause: Pickens Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy. The funds raised will support the program that mails free books each month to over 1150 Pickens County children under the age of 5. All money raised for their bail through cash, checks, pledges and on-line will stay in Pickens County to fund this program.
So be on the lookout for any of these 10 Detainees around Pickens County and if they ask for your help to bail them out, know that the bail money goes to a worthy cause. Watch at their workplace or other local locations as a sheriff’s deputy or Jasper police officer comes to arrest them and hauls them off to jail. Come down to the Old Jail on the 29th and enjoy the fun of seeing them be put in jail.
Thanks to all these wonderful citizens for being part of the Jail and Bail for FERST. Thanks also to Marble Valley Historical Society for allowing us to use the historic Old Jail and Bojangles for supplying the detainees their lunch that day.
