Previous story, May 16, 2014:
The Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force along with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department conducted a vehicle stop that netted them a substantial bust and one arrest. Other arrests are anticipated in the case and they predict a culmination of those may be next week.
At around 7:30 a.m. this morning the units conducted a traffic stop on a BMW occupied by Jonathan Scott of the Atlanta area. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of 912 Henderson Mountain Road near State Route 108. The 37 year-old was taken into custody following the recovery of the $12,000 and the methamphetamine totaling 12 ounces. The officers located the meth inside a box of Honey Nut Cheerios cereal found inside the vehicle, as pictured above.
Also involved in the stop was Jessika Gurule, 28, of Atlanta who was not taken into custody.
The arrest was made following a series of search warrants, vehicle stops and interviews in which other arrests and charges were filed.
“We had a certain distribution ring we’ve been looking at that led to this, the largest seizure of those,”
reported Commander Brandon Owens of the DTF.
He has been charged with driving while license suspended and felony possession, manufacturing and distribution.
