Obituaries

Ed Eurek, a resident of Big Canoe, Georgia, passed away at age 81 on June 7, 2014.Ed was born in Loup City, Nebraska on May 25, 1933, the second oldest of five boys. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Air Force, which was followed by a long career with the United States Department of Agriculture in the Meat & Poultry Division, finally retiring in 1989 and settling in Big Canoe. While stationed in New Jersey he met his wife of 59 years, Eileen Agnes Heinold and they were married in April of 1955 after which they moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Ed and Eileen have 2 daughters and 3 sons, who grew to add 2 son-in-laws and 3 daughter-in-laws, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ed was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, an avid golfer and gardener.

Ed is survived by his wife Eileen Heinold Eurek; Daughters; Joyce Chapman (Doug) of Dahlonega, Debbie Kinney (Charles) of Norcross; Sons; Wayne Eurek (Phyllis) of Johns Creek, Duane Eurek (Terri) of Savannah, Bruce Eurek (Renya) of Dahlonega; grandchildren; Brandon, Tara (Lance), Scott (Stacy), Ryan, Christina, Steven, Allyson (Sam), Morgan, Kevin, Olivia and Landon; Great Grandchildren; Aiden and Jillian; Brothers; Ernie (Lorraine) of Texas, David (Janet) of Nebraska, Frank (Maryann) of Nebraska and Ken (Diana) of Colorado; Brother-in-law; Charles Heinold (Consuelo) of Florida. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Rufus Eurek and Helen Stenka Eurek of Loup City, Nebraska.

Visitation is on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Funeral services are at Our Lady of the Mountains Roman Catholic Church, 1908 Waleska Highway 108, Jasper, Georgia on June 11, 2014 at 11:00 am with Father Frank Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
