I Corinthians 10:13 “God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will, with the temptation, make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
O God, in you we find strength to withstand all of the temptations of life. They are very strong, and they hit us at our weakest times. We thank you that our weaknesses can be overshadowed by your great strength. Help us to look to you when evil looks attractive to us. Teach us that although there may be momentary pleasure there is a destructive power that will assault the soul, ruin the life and tangle your real purpose for us. Grant us wisdom that we shall not be deceived by the tap on the shoulder which says “follow me and I will show you the joys of life.” Give us the maturity to see through such lies.
Except for your grace, our lives would be caught in the deep channels of sin’s debauchery. Were it not for that glorious time when we came to the cross and found life, we would be under the railing curse of our sin. Help this one who seeks power to be strong today to find it in the name of Christ.
