Pickens County Children Return to School Today
Dragon's Corner, Featured Stories August 11, 2014 , by Staff WriterToday (Monday, August 11) approximately 4,400 students returned to school in Pickens County.
The county has one high school, 2 middle schools, and four elementary schools.
This may be the year you become involved in your school system. The district is encouraging parent and citizen involvement.
We are aggressively seeking parent input and involvement through our Title I Program initiatives such as parent meetings, surveys, Parent Involvement Plans, and Parent-Student-School Compacts. Our community involvement also includes serving on the board of the following organizations: the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce, Prevent Child Abuse Pickens, Boys and Girls Club of North Georgia, Thrive to Five, and Youth Leadership Pickens. District personnel are also active in Family Connections and the Attendance Protocol Committee.
We hope you will find our resource page and its links helpful to you and your family. If you would like to find out ways to become more involved in your child’s education, please contact Amberle Godfrey @ 706-253-1700, [email protected].
