Ninth Annual A Taste of Pickens Nets $5,300 for C.A.R.E.S.

A Taste of Pickens was held at Chattahoochee Tech on Saturday the 8th with 22 vendors participating. Delicious selections were served up and C.A.R.E.S. (Pickens County Food Pantry) was beneficiary with proceeds netting them $5,300. Event organizer, Regina Camp, was pleased with the turnout and food went fast with a large crowd enjoying all the goodies being served up. Fuego – Quesadillas; Originals to Remember – Cake; 61 Main – local Pumpkin & Sage Grits w/Sausage; Bojangles – Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Dirty Rice; Carriage House – Banana Pudding, “Chocolate Dessert Mess”; Coast-to-Coast Catering – Cake; Madeline’s; Cora’s Country Diner – Chicken & Dressing, Apple Cobbler; Deb’s Bakery – Petit Fours, Pumpkin Pound Cake; Dos Margaritas – Guacamole, Chicken Quesadilla; Kroger – Starbucks’ coffee, soft drinks; Bojangles – Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Dirty rice; Last Catch – Shrimp & Grits, Clam Chowder; Lola Kitchen and Bar – Stuffed Mushrooms, Cannoli; Mary Ann’s – Pinto Beans, Cornbread, Banana Pudding; Rocco’s – wings; Wild Onion Grille – Pulled Pork sliders; Woodbridge Inn – Flaming Bananas Foster; Mary’s Bread Basket – Chicken Salad Sandwiches and Pumpkin Bars. Once again, Geraldine’s Bodacious Foods will hand out samples of their cheese straws, while the Foothills IGA generously donated plates and napkins for the event to spare C.A.R.E.S the cost of buying them.
