Psalm 18:25-27 “With the merciful you show yourself merciful; with the blameless man you show yourself blameless; with the purified you show yourself pure; and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous. For you save a humble people, but the haughty eyes you bring down.”

O God, we do not all see you in the same way. Those in whose lives you have worked a miracle of grace see you as merciful, blameless and pure. Those who have not experienced the wonder of your salvation see you unjust, cruel, unloving, and arbitrary in your dealings. Others do not acknowledge you at all.

We want to see you in all of your glory high and lifted up. We see your love that can reach to depths and lift one to the heights. We see your grace extended to the limits of time to give unbelievers opportunity to respond to you. We see your power reserved from judgment upon our sinful world.

But today we just want to see you near and involved in our lives. Give us eyes of faith to see you clearly until that day when we shall behold your glory face to face through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
