Pickens Deputy Keeping the Streets Safe

Featured Stories, News

A routine traffic stop may lead to more problems for a motorcyclist driving on Hwy 515 May 2nd, Saturday afternoon. A Pickens County Deputy noticed a motorcycle weaving while traveling up Highway 515 North on Saturday afternoon. The deputy hit the blue lights to pull the driver over and see what the problem might be causing the erratic behavior. When the deputy initiated the stop the driver began throwing something from his possession on to the sides of the road. The deputy called for backup and within just a few minutes authorities were searching the area.

There were several police officers working the incident when we arrived on the scene. FYN spoke to a couple of the officers who told us the deputy’s quick actions could have stopped a potentially dangerous driver from continuing on the busy highway. Other than finding out the basic information on the stop we do not have further information at this time. There is a lot of media regarding police enforcement and we just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to the men and women that keep us safe every day. FetchYourNews.com will update as soon as more information becomes available.

Remember if you see an unsafe driver on the roadways report it to authorities right away.
