Pickens County, GA – The Board of Commissioners, during their work session on May 7th, updated the county on the current status of road paving.Chairman Robert Jones reported the paving for the LMIG (Local Maintenance Improvement Grant) program should begin in two weeks. Having just serviced the tar spreading truck, the equipment is in working order and ready to pave.

According to Chairmen Jones, the paving for LMIG must be completed before the county can begin paving for the SPLOST program which is reported to have more than 70 roads waiting. Due to the paving required, the Commissioners and the Public Committee are attempting to divide the county into four quadrants to help make sure the paving is spread evenly across the county.
