Our Father in Heaven, thank you that you allow us who are mortal to call you, the great God of the universe, “Father.” You have many names in Holy Scripture, but this is the dearest of all to us. It makes you approachable and personal. We are also reminded of our brothers and sisters in Christ who share the term, “Our.”
We live in a world that is often hostile which we know is because of sin against you, but we also know that the Creator of the world is kind and gracious and not a God out to get us as many of the pagans fear. This makes our relationship to you personal and meaningful. Your love was so great for us that you sent Jesus from heaven to earth to redeem us unto yourself. When we think that one day you have made it possible for us to come to heaven to be with you, it is more than our minds can comprehend. Until then, you have given us heaven on earth in Christ.
