The Pickens High School Dragonettes basketball team traveled to North Hall High School to take on the Lady Trojans in the first round match up of the state playoffs. The Lady Trojans emerged victorious, winning 51-41. The Dragonettes struggled to score throughout the game, aided by a combination of the Lady Trojans full game full court press, and a plethora of Pickens’ own missed shots. [Read more »]

The Pickens Dragons’ wrestling season came to a close when JT Weyman’s bid to place in the 126lbs weight class ended in a consolation quarterfinals match of the AAA state tournament, held at the Gwinnet Arena Civic Center. The 2012 Georgia High School Wrestling Tournament at the Gwinnett Arena, which pits the best wrestlers that Georgia has to offer against each other, is now under twenty-four hours from starting. Pickens High School has one representative at this year's tournament in J.T. Weyman, a senior at PHS that wrestles in the 126 lb. weight class.
