Edward Lee Chumley
June 12, 1935 – January 13, 2019

Edward Lee Chumley, age 83 of Jasper, GA went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, GA. Edward was born June 12, 1935 in Ball Ground, GA to the late Dewey and Nellie Chumley. He served his Country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Edward loved Bluegrass music, singing and playing his guitar. He also loved to attend Mt. Zion Baptist Church and events at Pickens Co. Senior Center.

He is survived by sister, Mary Sue Beasley, of Canton; brother, James Chumley, of Jasper;
children, Debra Clymens, of CA., Angela Mahler, of N.Y., Rosa Leta Torres, of N.Y.; step-children, Larry and Kathy Beck, of Jasper, Mike Beck, of Jasper, Kathy Beck, of FL, Guy Burgess, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Seth Lambertson, Shawn Lambertson, Donald Leonard, Kristi Leonard, Adam Leonard, Ryan Lamb; numerous great-grandchildren and friends also survive.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ben Mock officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, GA.

Linda Mosley Coleman, age 78 of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Grandview Health Center.

Survivors include: children, Brad and Debbie Coleman, Todd and Lynn Coleman, Julie Coleman, Mitchell Coleman; grandchildren, Leslie and Sarandy Gaitanoglou, Jacob and Courtney Coleman, Lauren and Matt Davis, Cana Coleman; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Noah, and Luke Gaitanoglou, Kayleigh and Madelyn Coleman; sisters-in-law, Janis Mosley, Winnie Mosley, and Joni Mosley.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Whitestone Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Roger Vernon Hall, age 86 of Jasper, Georgia passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain.

Roger enlisted in the Marine Corps in September of 1952 during the Korean War and served until October, 1955. He attended Weber Jr. College and upon graduation from Brigham Young University, he attained his B.A. degree. For most of his career he was in sales.

Survivors include: wife, Betty Hall of Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sharon Hall of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jeff and Vickie Hall of Spring, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ellen and Sid Beasley of Canton; son, Bryant Hendricks of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Michelle and Kenny Taylor, Emily and Jeff Buxton, Rachel and Matt Gwilliams, Jonathan Hall, Cliff Beasley, Ross Beasley; great-grandchild, Ruth Buxton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Ora Mae Hall, Lewis and Judy Hall. He was preceded in death by sons, Craig Hall and Scott Hall; and sisters, LaWanna Wright and Shauna Oglesby.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ellijay, Georgia with Branch President Tony Stanley officiating.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Larry B. Scott of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Destini and Matthew Shope of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Chastain of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law Jessica Danielle and Tony McWhorter of Gulf Breeze, Florida; son, David Young of Verbena, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and April Scott of Seminole, Florida; grandchildren, Mallory, Ryan, Brooke, Chris, Jadyn, Tyler, Caleb, Nicholas, Brenson, Marleigh and Erica; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Linkin; brother and sister-in-law, David and Rene Duncan of Cartersville; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Webb of Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and David Gattis of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Frankie Kingsland of Marietta; sister, Dianne Samples of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and Roy Jesse Duncan Jr.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home Monday, January 7, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2019 at Ball Creek Baptist Church, with Reverend Harold Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Ball Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, January 7, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

David Lee Parker, born November 27th, 1957, returned to his Heavenly Home on January 1st, 2019. His Devotion to his loving wife, family and friends was an incredible witness to the love he had for Jesus. David was a man after God’s Own Heart and displayed it through his contagious praise and worship leadership beginning at age 15.
David was truly a humble, caring spirit filled with musical talent, the voice of an angel and a wonderful sense of humor. David was blessed with a close-knit family who he laid a firm foundation and helped build their lives in Jesus Christ.

David is survived by his wife, Carol Parker of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Dawn Parker of Jasper; daughter and daughter-in-law, Laurie and Amanda Parker of Carnesville; grandchildren, Bailey Parker of Jasper, Cameron Parker of Jasper, Christopher Parker of Carnesville, Sarah Parker of Carnesville, Kai Parker of Jasper, Kasen Parker of Jasper; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Marichu Parker of Savannah, Johnathan Parker of Miami, Ronnie and Jennifer Parker of Dover, Delaware, Kevin Parker of Jasper and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Rachael Parker and his grandparents, Stanley and Evelene Swartz.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Robert Self and Eddie Rhodes officiating. Mr. Parker will remain in the care of the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory as he is cremated.

Joan Carver Fowler, age 65, of Jasper, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at her home. She was born May 14, 1953 to Preston and Martha Carver in Jasper.

Joan is survived by her son, Scott Fowler of Jasper and sister, JoAnn Carver Harper. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Preston and Martha Carver.

At Mrs. Fowler’s request, she is being cremated in the care of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory. No service is planned at this time.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jerry Randall Poole of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Heather Poole of Jasper; grandchildren, Griffin Poole of Jasper, Fletcher Poole of Jasper; daughter-in-law, Jackie Poole of Jasper; step-grandchildren, Jake Holden of Jasper, Brad Holden of Jasper, April Holden of Jasper, Curtis Holden of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, James and Peggy Moss of Dallas, Georgia; sister, Minnie Lee Raynes of Jasper; sisters-in-law, Barbara Moss of Winder and Margie Moss of Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Avert Poole; and sons, Danny Edward Poole and Steve Michael Poole.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Ben Mock officiating. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
