Yesterday, the PHS Dragons varsity basketball team was yet again back in Blue Ridge for the second day of the annual Thanksgiving Tip-Off Tournament. After getting a double digit win over their rival Gilmer on Saturday, Pickens turned their focus on the Eagles of Hiwassee Dam.

The 2nd half of this one was one to see. The 3rd quarter belonged to the Dragons as they carried over the momentum built in the 2nd quarter over to the start of the 2nd half outscoring the Eagles 19-14 to take a 46-42 lead going into the 4th. In the 4th, it was back and forth with both teams. With time draining down, Pickens ran an inbounds play perfectly to take the late lead 58-57. However, the excitement would not be done there as Hiwassee Dam used an inbounds play of their own to drive the baseline, & make a tough layup as time expired to get the win, 59-58.
