Dragonettes Scholarship Signing

The Pickens High School Dragonettes sports programs had three different young ladies sign college scholarships to extend their playing careers on the collegiate level. Paula Pickett signed a softball scholarship to play for Gordon College. Haley Kalson signed a basketball scholarship to play for Gadsden State College, and Makayla Payne signed a basketball scholarship to play for Maryville College. (more…)

Nettes Defeat Lady Canes Clinch State Tournament Spot

Yesterday, the Dragonettes varsity basketball team traveled up to Tunnel Hill to take on the region leading Lady Bruins of Northwest Whitfield. Last Tuesday, the Nettes varsity basketball team traveled up to Dalton to take on the Lady Raiders of Southeast Whitfield in what was a big region game for both teams. Yesterday, the Nettes varsity basketball team hosted the Lady Mustangs of Kennesaw Mountain in second day of the Pickens Holiday Classic. The Lady Mustangs are out of 6A and Pickens is in the 4A classification. On Saturday, the Nettes varsity basketball team welcomed teams from different parts of Georgia and different classifications to PHS for the Pickens Holiday Classic. This past Friday, the Nettes varsity basketball team traveled to Hall County to take on the Lady Spartans of West Hall in non region action. ‘Nettes lose back and forth game to the Lady Canes

Yesterday, the ‘Nettes varsity basketball team traveled to Cartersville to take on the Lady Canes in 7AAAA action. This game was rescheduled from several weeks ago due to Cartersville’s football team hosting Buford in a AAAA semi-final playoff game. It was a back and forth game the whole way.

Nettes Lose Tough Game To Lady Tigers

Last Saturday, the Nettes varsity basketball team traveled to Dawson County to take on the Lady Tigers in non region action. Pickens, coming off of a tough defeat at the hands of their rivals the Lady Cats of Gilmer, had to block that out and focus on a good team in Dawson not even 24 hours later. Yesterday, The Nettes varsity basketball team came back to the Dragons Den for the first time since November 18th as they hosted the Lady Spartans of West Hall in non region action. Pickens, coming off of an impressive win in LaFayette on Tuesday, looked to continue their good play against the Lady Spartans. Defense would be the story of this game.
