J.V “Bucs” Raid Dragons’ Lair

The Junior Varsity basketball teams for the Allatoona High School Buccaneers and the Dragons of Pickens County met at Pickens County High School, and the visitors left with a 64-28 victory.The Buccaneers began the game by making the first two baskets. They never trailed throughout the game and created multiple turnovers by trapping harder than T.I. on Bankhead Highway. The turnovers combined with yeomen’s work on the glass, Allatoona out rebounded Pickens 29-14, placing the Bucs in the lead 19-11 after the first quarter.

The Dragons continued to be stifled by the trapping defense of the Bucs as they were held scoreless until Eric Justice broke the scoring drought with a basket with just under four minutes left in the first half. The Dragons ended the half down 35-18.

The second half was a twin of the first, with Allatoona increasing their lead while simultaneously holding the Dragons to four points in the third quarter. The quarter ended with the Buccaneers up 53-22. The visitors cruised to a 64-28 victory.
