A storm came through last night bringing high winds which resulted in damages and also many downed power lines. FYN received the following news release regarding restoration efforts.
As we continue in our power restoration efforts, Amicalola EMC is still experiencing widespread power outages across our service area. The storm that blew through last night brought high winds which resulted in many downed power lines.
At the height of the storm, approximately 15,000 Amicalola EMC members were without power. That number has dropped to approximately 1900. Outside crews have been brought in to assist Amicalola EMC crews to restore power as soon as is safely possible.
We have worked through the night and will continue to work until all power is restored. Amicalola EMC would like to remind everyone to stay away from downed power lines and always assume they are still energized.
To report a power outage, please call 706-253-0359, 706-276-0359 or 706-864-0359.
