Dragons’ Games Were Hot Contests

The Pickens Dragonettes and Dragons’ basketball teams hosted the Lady Raiders and Raiders of North Forsyth, in two close contests. While the Dragonettes fell four points shy of victory, 42-39, the Dragons won by one point 42-39.The Dragonettes who held a lead at the end of every quarter accept the all important deciding fourth quarter. The Dragonettes lead 29-27 at the end of the third; however Pickens was done in by a 15-10 Lady Raiders advantage in the fourth. Fetch POTW, Makayla Angels’potential game tying three pointer at the buzzer fell short.

The Dragons conversely, eked out a one point victory in a back and forth game that was close throughout. Pickens’ largest lead at the end of any quarter was three points 29-26, at the end of the third. Despite being outscored in the fourth 14-10, the Dragons were able to hold on winning by one.
