Joan Elizabeth Arp : Obituary

Ms. Joan Elizabeth Arp, age 63, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away at her home, on Friday, December 30, 2011 after a sudden illness.

Born April 29, 1948 in Jasper, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Thomason and Muriel Lena Mullins Thomason. She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Tina Smith, Great-Grandchild, Thomas Roper, Brother, Otis Thomason, and Sisters, Josephine Thomason and Marie Baker. Ms. Arp had worked as a floral designer at Artistic Designs & Gifts. She was also a member of the County Line Baptist Church.

Survivors include her SON & DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, Chad and Jennifer Arp, of Canton, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Ashley Arp, Aaron Arp and Kyle Arp, Justice Lowe, Macey Roper, and Lena Smith, GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, Brantley Roper, SON-IN-LAW, Jimmy Smith, of Jasper, Ga.; SISTERS, Kathleen Wilson, of Fairmont, Ga., Geraldine Stewart, of the Hinton Community, and Nora Lee Bunch, of the Hinton Community, BROTHERS, Daniel Thomason, of Calhoun, Ga., and Homer Thomason, of Lilburn, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the County Line Baptist Church, the Rev. Jess Posey will officiate with the interment to follow at church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, all day Saturday, and until the funeral hour Sunday.
