Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Stell Johnson, age 86, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born on July 31, 1925 in Cherokee County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Marion Stell and Mattie Mae Sams Stell, Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mr. Joseph Marion Johnson. She and Mr. Johnson were married in September of 1942. Mrs. Johnson was an inspector for Pickens Footwear and a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Bea is survived by her Daughter, Wanda Ann Lawson of Knoxville, TN, Son and Daughter-In-Law, Wayne Lamar and Linda Johnson and of Cherry Log, GA, Sister, Bessie Goldey of Jasper, GA, Brother, Robert L. Stell of Conyers, GA, Grandsons, Kelby Neil Gartrell of Jasper, GA, Dillon Marion Lawson of San Francisco, CA, and Graham Bill Lawson of Knoxville, TN. Bea was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012 from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home, the Bishop Frank Allen officiating with the interment to follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and until the funeral hour on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lake Blvd. # 280, Kennesaw, Georgia 30144 or to the Philadelphia Church Cemetery Fund in Bea’s name.
