The Pickens High School Dragonettes and Dragons track teams participated in the Region 7-AAA meet. The Dragonettes finished in sixth place while the Dragons finished in eighth place.The Dragonettes’ highest place winner was Alyssa Weaver, who finished first and second in the 3200 and 1600 Meter Runs, respectively. The Dragons highest place winner was Drew Bellows, who finished second and third in the 3200 and 1600 Meter Runs, respectively.
Pickens will be represented at sectionals by four members of the track teams, the aforementioned Weaver and Bellows, and Mollie Shaw and Turner Moranos. Shaw and Moranos each finished fourth in the girls and boys 3200 Meter run, respectively.
Only the top four finalists in each event move on to the sectionals meet with a chance to compete in the state meet.
