1. Adopted Resolution Amending the Pickens County Land Use Ordinance Map in regard to Parcel 030A-094 composed of 1.36 acres from Rural Residential (RR) to Highway Business (HB). Owner is Donal Dorsey and property is located on the southwest corner of Lumber Company and Talking Rock Road.
2. Signed Proclamation designating the week of May 13 – 19 as “Nursing Home Week”.
3. Signed Railroad Surface Installation Agreement Lump Sum Billing by and between Pickens County and Georgia Northeastern Railroad Company, Inc. for Court Street Crossing – Railroad Milepost: 431.4. Total estimated cost under this Agreement is not to exceed $59,255.
4. Signed Railroad Signal Installation Agreement Lump Sum Billing by and between Pickens County and Georgia Northeastern Railroad Company, Inc. for Court Street Crossing – Railroad Milepost: 431.4. Total estimated cost is not to exceed $202,325.35.
5. The Commissioners of the three counties in the Appalachian Circuit appointed Attorney Bill Pickett to the Appalachian Circuit Public Defenders Supervisory Council.
6. Awarded bid to Georgia Waste Systems, Inc. dba Waste Management of Atlanta for Recycling/Solid Waste Disposal. Bids were received from Waste Pro, Advanced Disposal and Waste Management. Waste Management had lowest bid.
