Austin Murphy is Brevard Bound

The Pickens Dragons’ basketball program saw their second starter from the 2011-2012 season announce where they will be attending college in the fall, as shooting guard Austin Murphy has said that he will be playing basketball at Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina next year. Austin will be part of a Tornados’ program that plays in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in Division II of the NCAA and is coached by Lee Burgess, who was hired to take over the program just one month ago. “I would like to thank Coach Steinhauer and Coach Burgess for this amazing opportunity to play basketball at the next level,” Austin said. “It is a dream come true.”

Murphy joins Spencer Jones as the only two starters that have made their college plans known at this point in time. Jones signed on to play at Auburn University at Montgomery back in March.
