FYN has learned that detectives are currently investigating 2 separate crimes that could affect the business community of Pickens County.One incident involved the burglary of a convenience store in Tate Georgia. The burglars entered through a side window after cutting the power to the facility. A cash register, cigarettes and tobacco products were taken. The cash register was recovered behind the adjacent property upon the report of the crime.
The second incident involves the break in of numerous storage units. The Storage units were located near Jasper off of Hwy 53 West and 31 units were entered. At this time, no items have been discovered missing, but the locks of all 31 units were cut and the doors were open.
