Mr. Kenneth Ray “Ken” Atkins, age 64, of Waleska, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home following a period of declining health.
Born on December 10, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Atkins worked for the US Government as a Federal Investigator and was also a member of the United States Air Force. Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his Father, Marcus Jefferson Atkins.
He is survived by his Wife, Paula Atkins, of Waleska, Georgia, Daughter, Tracy Williams, of Rowlett, Texas, Son and Daughter-In-Law, Brian and Mara Atkins, of Coppell, Texas, Mother, Helen Atkins, of Columbus, Mississippi, Brother and Sister-In-Law, Mark and Maureen Atkins, of Jasper, Georgia, Sister and Brother-In-Law, Donna and Rudy Manning, of Columbus, Mississippi, & Grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Tristan Williams, Marcus Atkins, and Jackson Atkins. Many Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives also survive.
At his request, Mr. Atkins was cremated.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s residence with a public Graveside Service and Burial of Cremains at Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 6, 2012 with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, Georgia 30143.
