Elisa Wallace Wows the Crowd at the Extreme Mustang Makeover

Elisa Wallace, who currently works and trains out of Rock Creek Farms in Jasper, showed off her skills at the Extreme Mustang Makeover in Clemson, South Carolina this weekend, as she and her mustang Fledge took home Overall Champion and Fan Favorite in the event.The Extreme Mustang Makeover is a very unique competition that was created five years ago by the Mustang Heritage Foundation in order to promote the adoption of wild mustang horses. The horse owners are given 120 days to work with the horses in order to prepare them for competition; once the competition’s finals end the horses are auctioned off.

Luckily for Elisa and Fledge, the two are not quite done working together, as Elisa successfully placed the highest bid on the three-year-old gelding at $1,100.

The EMM championship just adds to the list of accomplishments that Ms. Wallace has earned during the many years that she has spent working closely with horses, which include being listed on the 2007 USEF Developing Rider List, competing at the 2007 Pan-Am Selection Trials, and being long-listed for the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Elisa hopes to join the United States Olympic Equestrian team for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics.
