Collins Wins Ninth District

Republican Candidate Rep. Doug Collins has won the ninth district congressional seat.Collins won 76.21 percent of the vote, while opponent Democrat Jody Cooley won only 23.79 percent. In Fannin County, Collins won 7211 votes, where Cooley won 2118; in Gilmer, Collins won 8058 and Cooley won 2150, and in Pickens County Collins won 6419, while Cooley took away 1558. Mr. Collins will represent the new ninth district and will follow in the footsteps of Conservative Firebrand Tom Graves.
