After 28 rounds of competition Matthew Shirah with West Fannin Elementary won the 5th Annual ETC3 Spelling Bee. He spelled “instantaneous” correctly after Ellie Pool spelled it incorrectly. He then spelled “pneumonia” correctly to win. His school received an additional $1500 and he was awarded a $1000 savings bond.
Ellie Pool with Jasper Elementary School was the runner up and she received a $500 savings bond.
Throughout the event, five Samsung Galaxy PC Tablets were given away. Those lucky winners included: Valerie Maple, Jasper Elementary; Elisha Cloy, Ball Ground Elementary; Matthew Shirah, West Fannin Elementary; Tucker Hall, Deer Crossing Home School Academy; and Ethan Mann, Blue Ridge Elementary.
