Angela Taylor Burgess : Obituary

Ms. Angela Taylor Burgess age 43 of Jasper, Ga. passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.She is survived by her daughter Victoria “Torrie” Taylor, and Torrie’s father Siegi Taylor. Mother, Cherie Dobbs Martin, special family friend, Freddy Brackett, sister and brother in law, Dawn & Lonnie Fountain, niece and nephew, Ansley and David Bruce, brother, Nick Martin, and dear special friends, Ted and Mary McConnell. Aunt and Uncle Lila and Charles Padgett, Uncles Roy Dobbs, Fred Dobbs, and Steve Dobbs, and a host of family and friends.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Tyrone Baker, grandparents, Ralph and Ruth Baker, and grandmother, Hazel Gilreath Dobbs. Great grandparents, Lora and Herman Gilreath.

Angela operated Appalachian Memories Florist in Jasper, for many years and had an amazing talent for giving to others. Her beautiful flower arrangements have touched many families in our community. Her greatest talent was sharing. She loved to share by giving of her time at the Lyons Gate Mortuary, she loved sharing at the Jasper elementary Spook house where she and special friend Jean Noland always gave the kids a good scare all in fun as they raised money for the school. Angela was currently employed by Lowe’s in Ellijay and Subway in Ball Ground. Angela opened her home to the community for years as she welcomed visitors to her Christmas home filled with over 40 trees and special decorations. Over 400 people toured the home each weekend and many returned with special decorations for her to add to this beautiful gift to others. Born on Christmas Eve 1969 Angela had a special love for the holiday and angels. Angela joined her mother as co-host of North Georgia Now Today and enjoyed meeting folks through television. Today she joins her family in heaven and will be watching over those left behind.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 3 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from the Roper Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 after 10 AM, and Wednesday until the funeral hour.
