Pickens Seniors Shine on Scholarship Night

The Pickens High School’s annual Scholarship Night on Monday, May 6th was a smashing success, as scholarships from thirty different sources were handed out to a significant portion of the Class of 2013. Scholarships were donated by both local presenters who felt the need to give back to the brightest young men and women in the county and by colleges in the state of Georgia that had taken notice of some of the hard working students at PHS.

Following the presentation of these scholarships came closing remarks from Pickens High principal Eddie McDonald, who informed this year’s senior class that although they may think that the grass is greener somewhere else and will decide to leave Pickens,

“It’s no greener anywhere else than it is right here.”
