Scores of supporters came out to participate in The North Georgia Pregnancy Center’s Annual Fundraiser last week. People from as far as Gilmer County supported the cause, as well as residents from Pickens County. Held last Thursday, the event included a Bar-B-Q dinner, Blue Grass music and a silent and traditional auction.
Early in the evening, cars filled up the parking lot and folks filtered in the barn-house at Yahoo Farms off Waleska Highway. As they entered the building some assembled into the food line, while others mulled around tables with displays of the numerous gifts and gift-sets for auction. Gifts ranged from decorative plates to original paintings by local artists to pearl necklaces.
Speaking before the live auction, North Georgia Pregnancy Center Executive Director Patricia Page thanked everyone for attending and said she was honored to be director of the center. She also thanked all the volunteers and board members. Page said she was pleased with the turn-out.
The North Georgia Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization ministering to young women facing unplanned pregnancy by providing help and healing to them and their families providing them with healthy option other than abortion.
