After Months of wavering, Karen Handel announced today she will run for the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Saxby Chambliss.According to pundits, Handel’s strategy was to wait for Rep. Tom Price’s decision. A Price run would mean Handel’s was out of the race. Rep. Price, though, announced last week he will not run, clearing the way for Handel.
“Georgians want a conservative with the courage to take on the status quo, to fight for them and constitutional ideals, to be held accountable to them—and not Washington,”
she said in a press release today. Handel joins the race with Paul Broun (R), Phil Gingrey (R), and Jack Kingston ( R ).
