Lorene Jackson Bennett : Obituary

Mrs. Lorene Jackson Bennett, age 89 of Talking Rock, Georgia died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her sons residence following a period of declining health.

The body remains at the Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and until the Funeral Hour on Saturday.

Born October 19, 1923 in Pickens County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Wiley Jackson and Myrtle Tippens Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Cullen Bennett. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include, SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Gary and Paulette Bennett of Ball Ground, Ga.; Larry and Delores Bennett of Canton, Ga.; Tony Bennett of Talking Rock, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Dedra Coley, Darlene Pendley, Denise Gentry, Darrin Bennett, Kelly Bennett, Brian Bennett, Daryl Bennett and DeAnna Bennett; STEP-GRANDCHILDREN, Janie Holmes, Lisa Hendrix and Bryan Evans; 9 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, 7 Step-Great-Grandchildren and 4 Step-Great-Great-Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Sisters-In-Law and Brothers-In-Law also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Johnny Padgett will officiate with the interment to follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
