The STOP & DROP for our animal shelter on Camp Road was so successful, thanks to all the people in the community who got involved. Supplies continue to come for use by Shelter Director, Cindy Wilson. With summer here, volunteers are helpful. Always check with Cindy about what type of things she might need done before going and being without a specific job.
But all this is inside! NOW we go external, we prepare more GREEN space. Thanks to the Master Gardeners in our county who work with the University of GA Extension Service, we have experts designing a new green look to our shelter. Commissioner Rob Jones has offered his support as much as possible to use some equipment to do preparation of the grounds for what comes next.
And that is lots of work and donations of money and materials. The Volunteers for the Animal Shelter of Pickens County will be at Sacketts during the Farmers Market with a place for you to see the “WISH LIST”, make a donation for money or materials, sign up for volunteer jobs and find out about your shelter.
This is the Community Project that continues to give. Improving the visual and the addition of supplies makes this county building more valuable and provides a better fit with the general landscape and surrounding businesses.
If you like nature, LOVE animals, don’t mind hard work, and believe that we can do a lot to save our local government valuable tax dollars for other projects-WE NEED YOU! Please get involved in your community and show you care.
