The Pickens County 4-H’s SAFE shooting team has challenged the likes of the city of Jasper police, the Pickens County Sheriff, the Georgia Game and Fish Commission, the Nelson city police, and the Georgia State Patrol to “The Challenge at High Noon” on Saturday, July 13th.The challenge will be a modified trap competition, pitting the very talented SAFE team against some of the best shooters in all of Pickens County. The competition is being held to help raise money for the SAFE team; a $5 donation per individual would both help the team and also give those who donate a chance at $100 among other prizes.
The “High Noon Challenge” will be held at the Sheriff’s training range on Yukon Road just off of Burnt Mountain Road. Gates are set to open at 10:30 a.m. with the actual competition starting at 12:00 p.m.
