Roper Funeral Home and Crematory announces the death of Mr. Charles “Charlie” Padgett age 80 of Jasper who passed away on Friday August 16, 2013 at his home.He was preceded in death by his Wife, Wylene Padgett. Mr. Padgett retired from Lawson’s Chevrolet as a mechanic and he and his wife operated Airport Mini Speedway for many years.
He is survived by his son: Chuck Padgett, Jasper, Daughter & Son-in-law: Sheila & Allen Hyatt, Ellijay, Grandchildren: Derek & Elizabeth Hyatt, Ellijay, Daniel & Crystal Hyatt, Ellijay; Great-Grandchildren: Millie Grace Hyatt, Ellijay, Reece Hyatt, Ellijay; Brother & Sister-in-law: Truman & Laveda Padgett, Dalton, Brother-in-law & Sisters-in-law: Gwynelle Padgett, Jasper, Carolyn & Bruce Swann, Marietta, Danny “Doodle” Jordan, Ball Ground. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral Service will be 2 PM Sunday August 18, 2013 at the Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Allen, Rev. Gene Childers, and Rev. Daniel Hyatt officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday August 17, 2013 from 11 Am until 9 PM.
