Govenor Deal Recognizes Miss Pickens County

This past summer the lovely young ladies of Miss Pickens County were recognized again by Governor Nathan Deal for their community services through the Georgia’s Caring Queens project.Showing off their award winning smiles Shali King, Sydney Reynolds, Peyton Williamson, Kati McClure, Sky Lehman, Erin Kirby, Chloe Callan, Gabby Buchan, & Hannah White posed for photos with Governor Deal in his office. While most people may think that being a beauty queen is just wearing a crown, sash, and smile these girls know it’s the beauty within us all that matters most. Each year Miss Pickens County royalty is encouraged to participate in the Caring Queens Project (a contest based on points for participation) by making donations, volunteering, making appearances in their crowns & sashes, and participating in other events that benefit our community. The ‘Caring Queen’ that has done the most for her community within the year will be crowned ‘Queen of Queens’. This years winner will be crowned during Miss Pickens County 2014 on April 26th by reigning ‘Queen of Queens’ Shali King.
