A letter from Branko “Dr. Rad” Radulovacki, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate: Dear friend,
I spent last Saturday at a Tea Party-sponsored event in North Georgia.
Why? Because, despite some reservations about the kind of welcome a progressive Democrat would receive, I felt it was important to demonstrate my willingness to serve ALL Georgians – not just those who share my views.
I’m so glad I went!
I was met by a group of enthusiastic Democrats who praised my courage. They’re excited about the possibility of being heard and represented in the U.S. Senate. I also spoke with a number of independent/undecided voters who appreciated the chance to ask questions and share ideas.
Just as important, I had opportunities to talk with Tea Party folks. Their genuine interest in my positions – and their willingness to discuss the rationale behind them – reinforced my belief that we can find common ground. And that’s the first step in addressing our nation’s problems.
