Keep Pickens Beautiful Autumn Events

Keep Pickens Beautiful teamed up with Jasper Elementary School to expand their school recycling program.

They were also at the Talking Rock Heritage Festival on October 19, 2013KPB delivered 24 paper recycling containers, along with 6 hex-cycle containers. The paper baskets will be placed by Jeannie Smith, School Counselor, in each classroom to collect their scrap paper for recycling.

The hex-cycle containers, pictured above, will be placed in their eating area’s to collect aluminum cans and plastic. Our thanks to JES for continuing and expanding there recycle efforts. Teaching our young folks to reuse, reduce and recycle is a step toward a cleaner environment and reducing solid waste that ends up in landfills. Keep Pickens Beautiful collected and processed 6 large bags of aluminum cans, plastic and a truck load of cardboard from the Heritage Days Festival held in Talking Rock last week end. The paper shredder collected 1100#s of paper and it was recycled. This effort recognizes exemplary performance made by KPB members in an effort to reduce litter, minimize waste and recycle, which beautifies our local communities. Working together doing the little things that make a BIG difference.
