Mrs. Katie Smith Hensley, age 93 of Whitestone, GA died Friday, January 17, 2014 at Heritage Healthcare in Jasper. Katie was born August 4, 1920 in Gilmer County to the late Lawson & Rosie Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Hensley.
She is survived by her daughters & sons- in-law, Dorthy Rittenberry, Talking Rock, Betty & Billy Reece, Whitestone, Elaine Logan, Jasper, Mary Nell Logan, Talking Rock, Evelean & Deryl Hyde, Ellijay, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. all day Saturday till 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday until the funeral hour.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Rittenberry, Rev. Matt Hyde, & Rev. Tim Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
