Pickens High School senior Alyssa Weaver signed her National Letter of Intent for Texas Tech on Wednesday, ending a long recruitment process.
Weaver’s decision to run for the Red Raiders is not unchartered territory for her family, as her grandfather was also part of the Texas Tech track team.
Alyssa had a great four-year career with the Pickens track team, which culminated in her finishing 2nd in AAAA and eighth overall at the state track meet in Albany, Georgia. She was also named to the Team Georgia Foot Locker South Regional Cross Country Championship Team, making her just the third person in PHS history to receive such an honor.
