Mr. Charles Anthony Byers, age 71 of Talking Rock, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Canton Nursing Center in Canton, Georgia. Born March 2, 1943 in Cherokee County, he was the son of the later Aubrey Samuel Byers and Marie Fitts Byers and was also preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Byers. Mr. Byers had been employed as a flight line inspector with Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, Georgia and was a member of the Long Swamp Baptist Church.
Survivors include, HIS WIFE, Barbara Byers of Talking Rock, Ga.; DAUGHTER & SON-IN-LAW, Carrie and Joel McKinney of Ball Ground, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Eric and Kelly Byers of Talking Rock, Ga.; Todd and Shea Byers of Jasper, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Hannah Byers of Talking Rock, Ga.; and Emmaline McKinney of Ball Ground, Ga.; BROTHER, Roy Byers of Jasper, Ga.; SISTER-IN-LAW, Dixie Byers of Jasper, Ga.; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Long Swamp Baptist Church, the Rev. Lamar Frady, Rev. Charles Holbert and Rev. Marcus McKinney will officiate with the entombment to follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, all day on Tuesday and until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
