My name is Daniel Bell. I am announcing my candidacy for the Pickens County Post 2 Board of Education seat in the May 20th, 2014, Republican Primary.I was born and raised in Pickens County. I graduated from Pickens High School and Pickens Technical School in 1988 as a dual-enrolled student where I studied Auto Collision Repair. I later went back and received a degree in Technical Studies.
I worked almost ten years with Bill Elliott Racing in Dawsonville, Georgia, where I helped build and paint race cars. I then worked with Ronnie Thompson Ford for six years in management positions. Currently, I am employed at Chattahoochee Technical College as the Auto Collision Repair Instructor and have been there seven years.
I have been married for 20 years to Christi, who works for Georgia Mountains Hospice in Jasper and I also volunteer for Georgia Mountains Hospice. We have two children in the Pickens County School System.
My wife and I are members of Ball Creek Baptist Church, where I serve as a Deacon.
If elected as a School Board Member, I would work with each stakeholder in Pickens County to help ensure the highest quality education to all students. I would work to create a comfortable means of communication between myself and all stakeholders. I would vote in a fiscally responsible manner. I would always have the best interest of the students as my motivation.
I look forward to meeting and talking to all stakeholders of Pickens County. Thank you and God Bless.
